What Is Catechism?
The word catechism comes from the Greek katēcheō, meaning to instruct or teach orally—often expressed as “to teach by word of mouth.” This word appears in passages such as Luke 1:4 and Galatians 6:6, describing instruction received and shared. At its heart is the passing on of truth from one person to another.
At Ardent, catechism is a way of learning the Christian faith within the family of God. Through teaching, questions, discussion, repetition, and practical application, we seek to understand what we believe, why we believe it, and how that belief should shape the way we live.
